Surfing is the perfect opportunity for fun on the water, ride the waves on a surfboard, usually around 2-3 meters in length. Paddle out in the sea where the waves are best and control the board with your body weight. Try to stand up when you get the right wave. If you know how to swim, and love the water, then surfing is just right for you, no matter your age. Surfing is relatively easy to learn, but hard to master. It takes balance, patience, and willpower.
Stand up paddling is an alternative to surfing, all you need is a board, a paddle, and a life jacket. Stand Up Paddleboarding is simply standing up on a surfboard and using a paddle to move forward. It takes balance and control, but everyone can learn it.
Kite Surfing is a fast-growing sport, which combines traditional surfing with a kite that creates propulsion. This propulsion makes it easy to reach speeds of up to 35-50 km/h. Kite surfing is for everyone in the family, though for security reasons if you are new it is best to start on a day with only little wind and in a closed bay area.
Windsurfing combines elements from surfing and sailing. The surfboard is attached to a sail that helps bring you forward. Windsurfing can be done in the sea, in fjords or on lakes, as all it takes is a bit of wind. People of all ages can learn to windsurf, though it is best to start in closed areas or lakes. North Jutland offers plenty of opportunities to go windsurfing, both along the west coast but also in the area around the Limfjord.
