The artist couple, Michael and Anna Ancher, moved into the house on Markvej in 1884.
Today, the beautiful artists’ home creates the frames for an exciting museum that bears witness to the everyday life and the art of the family.
The house as well as furnishing, paintings and other inventory appear as it did, when the family lived in the house, and displays around 250 unique works of art from Krøyer, Tuxen, L. A. Ring as well as the Anchers themselves.
In Saxilds Gaard, right next to Anchers Hus, you’ll find the museum café and a photo exhibition on the Ancher family.
