The area around Saltum is known as the Jammerbugt Alps – in Danish eyes Saltum’s 100 metre hills are almost mountains! You’ll find wild animals and beautiful countryside wherever you look as well as peace and quiet.
Behind the dunes is an area of undulating be-planted dunes with woodland and rambler tracks. Between Saltum and Grønhøj you will find the Lille Norge nature reserve. These beautiful areas of forestry and countryside run right down to the North Sea coast and are wonderful walking country. From Guldagerhøj in Lille Norge you can enjoy a view of the whole of Bay Denmark. Close by Saltum you’ll find Fårup Sommerland, where there are days worth of family entertainment to be had. Living in tents or cottages is the way to enjoy the peace of this quiet corner - where there is less bustle than in some of the larger resorts.
In Saltum town, which is a couple of kilometers removed from the coast, you’ll find a wide variety of shops and a couple of eateries. If you are artistically inclined then Saltum is well worth a visit.
