A holiday center or resort is a perfect mix between a hotel and a summer house supplemented by a wealth of activities for the whole family and lots of playmates for the kids. Here you will spend a lovely holiday with plenty of room for the whole family with the countryside right on your doorstep.
The majority of North Jutland's holiday resorts are situated just a stone's throw from the water, but you can also find them at the most attractive spots further inland. They are a good choice at any time of the year, as they all promote time spent together, intimacy, coziness, relaxation and physical activities - with everything under one roof.
Your holiday dwelling is an apartment or a small detached house with its own patio or balcony. As a rule, the dwelling is laid out to cater for 4-8 people and standard equipment includes – in addition to good, practical furniture – color TV, bedding and often a telephone. Bed linen, towels and tea towels can be rented at the resorts if you do not wish to bring these items with you from home. The kitchen is also well-equipped, and for those of you who are on kitchen duty, life is made easier thanks to a dishwasher and coffeemaker.
You can rent your holiday dwelling for one or more weeks, usually from Saturday to Saturday, but weekend breaks are also popular. Outside the peak season and other holiday periods, shorter mid-week stays can almost always be arranged. The price, of course, depends on the season and the length of the stay, but it is worth remembering that good discounts are usually available outside the peak season. The peak season is in the summer time, particularly during the Danish school holidays, which run from approx. 20 June to early August. The autumn holiday, which runs from mid-to-late October, is also popular just like the Easter holiday and the Winter holiday (one week in February). So book well in advance.
When staying at a holiday resort, you will surely never get bored. And the children love holiday resorts because of the many facilities and activities. Most resorts have both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, saunas and fitness rooms, and often there is also a subtropical leisure pool complex. Some have an activity center where you can try your hand at sports such as surfing, diving, golf, riding and tennis. During the peak season, in particular, the holiday resort's sports team is ready to assist you with good advice and guidance. If you prefer more sedate activities, table tennis and billiards are usually available. Furthermore, it is not unusual for holiday resorts to organize a magic show, children's disco and treasure hunt to name a few of the possible activities.
Good food is also a must. This is fully catered for at a holiday center, where there are places to eat to suit all tastes. There are often several restaurants to choose from and delightful cafes where you can enjoy a snack. You and your family are, of course, also welcome to prepare your food yourselves in your own well-equipped kitchen. There are always good possibilities for shopping either at the resort itself or close by, ensuring that buying your daily groceries is never a problem.
We would also like to recommend Skallerup Seaside Resort, which combines a family holiday with high service standards. Otherwise you can find many others on the map.
