Come on board a Viking Ship!
The Museum is the only place in the world where you can go directly from looking at 1,000 year old Viking ships to standing at the Museum Harbour, where the Viking ship reconstructions lie moored at the quay.
Hop on board and sail out on Roskilde Fjord!
During the sailing, you can experience how it was to be a Viking at sea. We sail in the Viking Ship Museum’s traditional Nordic boats, which are direct descendants of Viking ships. Everyone on board actively takes part in rowing, setting the sail and other ‘sailors work’.
The trip starts at 10:30. The trip takes 50 minutes including an introduction to the ship, instruction in how to row and fitting of a life jacket. All sailing trips are led by an experienced sailing instructor.
Children on board: There are a few places on board for children (between 4 and ca. 14 years of age) and others who aren’t able to row. Children under 4 can unfortunately not take part in sailing trips.
CHILDREN MUST ALWAYS BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
